*sigh*

Even the sainted Ocado sometimes runs out of stuff I want, or a substitution isn't suitable, necessitating a trip to a supermarket. Isn't it obvious that online grocery shopping is not failsafe?

Re: We are under attack
Yeah, people are thick for not realising you can order online.

We won't mention the fact when Sainsbury's went down last week, it affected all online orders as well...

I like to stretch my legs Mashed.

Speaking of which, I don’t know why supermarkets prioritise delivery orders, over their customers who’ve actually bothered visiting.

People moan a lot about going shopping these days, but seem totally unaware you can just order your shopping online.

And then they complain about the general public being thick.

*shrugs*

Nurse, I know what you mean about the toys.

Suspect that a lot of toys in the future will end up AI based. Seen quite a lot of AI stuff through work, and it just leaves me cold. I don’t get the excitement.

Whereas on holiday, went to an exhibition of old maps, photos and various other things of Istanbul.

They had 4 or 5 of those 130 year old French contraptions, where you look into a little hole, and there’s a ‘world’ of things behind it, all just colourful cardboard, in layers that make the little people in them almost 3D. One of them was just a colourfully clad gent, doing a tightrope act. Was the best thing I saw on holiday.

And Joe cash is the only money you actually own. Now governments are trying to do away with cash all together to combat tax avasion , drugs and the black economy.

My investments are in Gold

Apparently only 4% of money is cash, the rest is just numbers on a screen.

I would recommend the BBC sounds podcast The Lazarus Heist . Those nasty N Koreans hacked our NHS as well as stealing billions . Ironically the Brit who discovered their game almost got in prison for being a hacker himself

Now I think about it, the 'skin' covering his bionic arm would have probably been usable as the world's least popular condom material?

An award to aspire to if ever there was one.😏

I think I had that very figure? 'Eagle' eye, bionic arm with a slightly disturbing condom-like skin and detachable legs.

Right up there with Stretch Armstrong.

Aren't supermarket vouchers loaded onto your phones nowadays so no delays as you just scan it at the till.

More importantly, do any cafes still take Luncheon Vouchers?

Sometimes I tell my children about this stuff - Green Shield Stamps, Alpine Pop lorries, 'Benny on the Loose', milk floats, etc. They think we were mad. I once showed my son a website of 1970s toys, many of which I'd had, and he said the toys of my youth were rubbish. I got a bit defensive. That Steve Austin action figure my nephew had was the nuts!

Will Green Shield stamps ever make a comeback?

*chuckles*

Having never used money-off coupons, I don't know for sure how much money you can save, but say your bill comes to fifty quid and you get a fiver knocked off that for coupons...still not worth it to my mind. I'll happily spend that 'extra' fiver at the till on a quick getaway and dignity intact.

Nurse Ratched sounds like Victoria Meldrew.

She has a point but it’s worth taking on board the arcane and almost indecipherable system Sainsbury’s use on the 60cm of till receipt they leave a customer with.
